The School of Law, Can Tho University, was established in February 2000 based on the Department of Law, which was established in September 1998.

Mission
The School of Law is a high-quality training and scientific research institution in the fields of law, carrying out the mission of disseminating legal knowledge, having a liberal and humanistic educational environment and closely linked to the practice of the legal profession, carrying out consulting, reviewing and providing legal services, effectively contributing to the cause of socio-economic development of the region and the country, gradually integrating internationally.

Vision to 2045
In 2045, the School of Law - Can Tho University will become one of the leading law schools in terms of quality in Vietnam with certain contributions to undergraduate and graduate training and legal science research at the international level and actively performing the role of serving the community.

Core values

Training is practicing regularly to achieve certain qualities or levels. This also means building the School of Law - Can Tho University to become an address and environment for the staff and students strive to get good qualities, high levels for professional law activities.
Good conscience: The word “conscience” is not only a heart in Chinese-Vietnamese meaning but also a soul, emotion and spirit. “Good conscience” refers to a good heart. “Good conscience” shows the desire to be good, achieve good moral qualities, perfect integrity, protects the right, the weak and human values in general.
Intelligence: It is wisdom and intelligence. Intelligence is crystallized from many types of abilities, including observation ability, memory, thinking, imagination, practical skills and creativity. “Intelligence” refers to building liberal legal thinking, aiming for integrity and honesty for the goal of building a fair, democratic and civilized society.
“Training conscience – Training intelligence” is the process of cultivating legal ethics with human values and training legal thinking with intelligence. “Conscience” evokes compassion and wholehearted service to humanity. “Intelligence” is about honing to achieve intelligent knowledge, clear problem-solving skills and reaching the level of understanding and emotion.

The staff is dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic with the profession, 100% of lecturers having postgraduate degrees trained from prestigious educational institutions in Vietnam, England, France, America, Australia, and the Netherlands.

The School of Law is considered one of the prestigious and quality law training institutions in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, trusted by students’ families and satisfied by employers. The School of Law, Can Tho University constantly strives to improve in all aspects to train more generations of law bachelors with political capacity, moral qualities, professional qualifications contributing to the construction and development of Vietnam.
After graduating with bachelor degree of law, new graduates will have opportunities to work in many fields, such as:
- Consultants in law firms; Legal specialists in enterprises;
- Commercial arbitrators;
- Court secretaries, judge;
- Specialists, enforcement officers of civil enforcement agencies;
- Specialists, prosecutors;
- Lawyers, notaries;
- Specialists of People’s Council, People’s Committee at all levels, Departments, Divisions and equivalent;
- Specialists of political organizations, socio-political organizations;
- Lecturers, teachers teaching law in schools and so on.
In addition, new graduates can continue to study for master and doctoral degrees at institutions in and outside the country.
